University of Sydney Foundation Program

The University of Sydney and Taylors College have worked closely together to create the University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP). The University of Sydney Foundation program, is an intensive, focused program which guarantees entry to the University of Sydney upon successful completion.

USFP students are guaranteed a place in the undergraduate course of their choice at the University of Sydney upon achieving the necessary requirements. Every year, more than 80% of USFP graduates who apply to the University of Sydney are offered a place.

USFP is delivered in 20-week semesters (or 10-week terms for 30-week programs). After completing the first semester you may have the option to repeat a unit, take a different subject or extend your program and study at a slower pace. Students are counseled through this process on an individual basis to select the best study option. This flexibility allows you to study in the way that gives you the best chance of success.

Student Success

The Faculty of Economics and Business attracted 39% of University of Sydney foundation graduates. The highly competitive faculties of Pharmacy and Architecture, each attracted 2% of the students. Eight students were offered places in the Combined Law Programs and nine students in Medical Science as a pathway to the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney.

The top students GOH, Siak Yong from Singapore and SUN, Ya Min from China both achieved GPA’s of 9.8 and were offered places in their first preference courses, Bachelor of International and Global studies/Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) at the University of Sydney, respectively. GOH, Siak Yong was awarded the prestigious Sue Harlen Merit Scholarship, valued at $10,000, for his academic excellence, communication and leadership skills.
