What will I study?

During your three-year Creative Writing degree you will study fiction, non-fiction, screen writing and poetry. You will study and critique others’ writing, whilst constantly improving your own. Students are given the opportunity to experience many different strands of creative writing, for example; song writing or blogging. You can also acquire practical skills such as proofreading and shorthand which will help you to get started in this competitive industry.

The first year covers practical skills in writing by using classroom exercises to encourage self-reflection and improvement. Second year students study non-fiction writing (including travel writing and memoirs) alongside drama and poetry.
