ACG College – University of Auckland Foundation Program

Since February 1999, University of Auckland Certificate of Foundation Studies program has been taught exclusively through Academic Colleges Group (ACG) New Zealand International College situated in the heart of Auckland City. To date over 4,000 students have chosen the Certificate in Foundation Studies program at ACG College as a pathway to the University of Auckland.

University of Auckland

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s top-ranked research university and is situated in the heart of cosmopolitan Auckland. It was established in 1883 and offers a comprehensive range of world-class research-based study programs.

The Times Higher Education Supplement (October 2009) recently ranked the University 61st equal in the world’s top universities.

The University of Auckland is the only university in New Zealand with membership of Universitas 21. This is an association of major research intensive universities which includes the Universities of British Colombia, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, New South Wales, Queensland and Melbourne.

University of Auckland Certificate in Foundation Studies

University of Auckland has designed and owns the foundation program. It is delivered at ACG College. Successful completion of The University of Auckland Certificate of Foundation Studies to prescribed standards guarantees entry to an appropriate University of Auckland undergraduate degree. The New Zealand Vice Chancellors’ Committee has approved The University of Auckland Certificate in Foundation Studies for entry to all New Zealand universities.

The Certificate has also been approved for entry to a range of Australian universities, including The Australian National University (ANU), The University of Adelaide, La Trobe University and Monash University.

You will need to study English for Academic Purposes (EAP), plus four from the following list:

• Accounting
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Design
• Economics
• Geography
• Mathematics with Calculus
• Mathematics with Statistics
• Physics

All students who enrol in The University of Auckland Certificate of Foundation Studies at ACG College will receive two offers of place at the time of application: a letter of offer for the Foundation Studies course and a conditional letter of offer for The University of Auckland. A confirmed offer of place will be issued by The University of Auckland when students have successfully completed the Certificate in Foundation Studies.
