The Institute of Education is known throughout he world as the UK’s premier institution for the education and training of teachers and for the conduct of educational research. That reputation has been gained and sustained over a period of 100 years.
The IOE conducts over one-third of all education research in the UK, and over 40% of research funded by the research councils in the field. In 2007-08, the IOE was more successful than any other university institution in securing funding from the research councils.
