Keele University International Study Center Diploma

The Foundation Diploma is a unique advanced foundation course for students with top High School graduation grades. The course offers an intensive, direct path to the second-year of an undergraduate degree at the University.

The Foundation Diploma is a rigorous and academically demanding four-term program of academic subjects, study skills and English language training designed specifically to provide international students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed on a degree at Keele University. Keele’s undergraduate degrees are 3 years in length, so Foundation Diploma students need only complete 2 more years of study before graduating, saving both time and tuition fees.

Keele University offers students a modern and internationally recognized education. Most undergraduate students take Dual Honors degree courses but we also offer Single Honors degrees, including medicine and the health professions. At postgraduate level, a range of Masters courses are taught by experts with national and international research reputations.Keele University has one of the UK’s highest rates for graduate employment, with over 96% of our graduates annually in work, study or planned time out within six months of leaving Keele.

Program Features

The Foundation Diploma is a rigorous and academically demanding four-term program of academic subjects, study skills and English language training designed specifically to provide international students with an intensive, direct path to the second-year of an undergraduate degree at Keele University. It will ensure you gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in your degree. On successful completion of the course and having met the required entry standards, you will proceed directly to your preferred degree program.

The four-term Foundation Diploma begins in September, with a three-term option for students with advanced qualifications available in January. Both lead to second year undergraduate degree entry in the following September (subject to Foundation Diploma results).

You can choose between three Foundation Diploma routes:

• Computing
• International Relations and Politics

All Foundation Diploma routes are modular in structure. There are three core modules common to each route: English Skills 1, English Skills 2 and Study Skills. You will also study thirteen subject-specific modules, each carefully designed to focus on the academic areas most useful to your chosen degree.

The Foundation Diploma is validated by Keele University and taught by specialists in university preparation. You will be introduced to the style of teaching that you will experience when you progress onto your degree. Teaching is in tutorials, seminar style classes and larger group lectures.
