SAIBT is based in the historic Brookman Building on the City East campus of the University of South Australia (UniSA), right in the heart of central Adelaide. SAIBT programs are offered in partnership with the University of South Australia (UniSA) as an alternative pathway to a university degree. Our very close relationship with the University means that you will be studying a UniSA curriculum, delivered by UniSA teaching staff.
While studying on UniSA’s City East campus, SAIBT students have access to the full range of university services and facilities (eg. computer suites, library services etc.) and are able to familiarise themselves with the campus and university lifestyle, enabling smoother transition into university studies. The City East campus is located in the city centre of Adelaide providing easy and convenient access to the business and commercial heart of the state capital.
University of South Australia – UniSA
University of South Australia (UniSA) is the largest university in South Australia, it is one of the fastest growing and most innovative universities in Australia. With more than a third of its 36,000 students coming from more than 70 countries, UniSA is a modern and progressive institution with a strong and growing research profile.
SAIBT Programs
Lectures at SAIBT contain an average of only 22 to 25 students, with a maximum of 50. These are complimented by small group tutorials and workshops. In keeping with our supportive approach, SAIBT provides more teaching hours per course. Instead of the traditional three-hour teaching block, SAIBT classes are four-hour sessions giving you almost 30% more class contact time than an undergraduate student in a first year program at university. This extra academic contact allows you to fully develop your knowledge and understanding of each course.
The SAIBT’s Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies is the first step on your pathway to university.The Certificate IV is a university foundation program, equivalent to year 12, which provides the skills and discipline knowledge for students to successfully meet the challenges of undergraduate studies.
The Certificate IV consists of eight courses in total, however if you have completed year 12, or the equivalent work experience, it may be possible for you to fast track your studies. If you achieve average grades of 70% or more in the first four subjects of the Certificate IV, you can transfer directly into a SAIBT diploma of your choice.
SAIBT Diplomas are pathways to most bachelor degrees at the University of South Australia (UniSA). On successful completion of your SAIBT Diploma you will be eligible for entry into an extensive range of bachelor degree programs at UniSA.
We have three intakes a year in: March, June, October. This provides you with increased flexibility in deciding when to start and finish your program and may enable you to fast-track ahead of other students enrolling in the traditional program (for example, if you enrol in October you could enter second year university by July the following year).

- Diploma of Arts
- Diploma of Business
- Diploma of Health Sciences
- Diploma of Technology (Information Technology)
- Diploma of Technology (Engineering and Environment)
Students who successfully complete their SAIBT Diploma program and meet required Grade Point Average (GPA) will be eligible for admission to the second year of a related bachelor degree program at UniSA.
SAIBT Diploma programs are also recognized by universities throughout Australia. Our graduates have successfully applied for places at many Australian universities and been granted up to one year’s credit for their studies at SAIBT.
